Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ellenberger celebrate golden anniversary
Carl and Karen Ellenberger of Minerva, formerly of the Salem area, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married in Washington, D.C., on May 21, 1964, where they both were employed by the federal government.
The couple moved to the Salem area in 1974 from Minnesota. Mr. Ellenberger was employed with Armour Foods where he was controller after which time he was self-employed for 30 years before retiring in 2012.
Mrs. Ellenberger was employed by the Salem City School District for 30 years before her retirement in 2004.
They have two children, Sherrie of Salem, and Troy of Chicago, Ill., and one granddaughter, Payton Ellenberger of Waynesburg.
Their daughter has planned a family trip to Myrtle Beach, S. C., in June.
