Paxsons to mark 50th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Neil Paxson of 333 W. 10th St., Salem, will be honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house reception. Family and friends are invited from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Educational Building.

The former Ila Jeanne Davis and Mr. Paxson were married Aug. 12, 1964, by Pastor Richard Freseman at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

The couple has four children, Amy Paxson, Judy Eisenbraun, Steve Rowedda and Barb Rowedda, all of Salem; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Paxson served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from Roberts Express in Akron. His memberships include golf leagues and Elks Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892 of Salem, Masons and Lions Club of Lisbon.

Mrs. Paxson retired from Salem City Schools where she was a teacher for 35 years. She is a tutor and member of Salem Music Study Club, Red Hats, Quota International, Salem Historical Society and Delta Kamma Gamma Teaching Society.

The Paxsons are members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was the organist for 55 years and bell choir director.

The festivities were hosted by Amy Paxson and Judy Eisenbraun.
