Michelle Kay Benecke-Rodriguez weds Russell Wells Detwiler II

Michelle Kay Benecke-Rodriguez and Russell Wells Detwiler II were married on July 13 at the Defiance Eagles Reception Hall. Jeffrey Drown officiated at the couple’s 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride’s parents are Dexter and Janis Benecke of Ridgeville Corners. The bridegroom is the son of Russell and Marsha Detwiler of Lisbon.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride appeared in a chiffon A-line gown with a ruched front bodice, halter top neckline trimmed with silver sequins and silver and pearl beading and a chapel-length train. She wore a finger-tipped ribbon edged veil with diamond accents and a diamond headband. Her bouquet was composed of white silk roses and accents of black, silver and pearls with cascading black ribbon and pearls.

Jennifer Rodriguez of Defiance served her mother as maid of honor.

The bridesmaid was Ivy Detwiler of Spencer, W. Va., the bridegroom’s daughter.

Jessica Rodriguez of Defiance, the bride’s daughter, was the junior bridesmaid.

All attendants wore matching knee-length black halter top dresses.

The flower girl was Jasmine Rodriguez of Defiance, the bride’s daughter.

Serving as best man was David Detwiler of Salem, the bridegroom’s brother.

Groomsman was Joel Detwiler of Boardman, the bridegroom’s brother.

The junior groomsman was Gabe Detwiler of Salem, the bridegroom’s nephew.

The ring bearer was Hayden Detwiler of Salem, the bridegroom’s nephew.

Shaundra Detwiler of Salem presided at the guest book and handed out programs and bells.

The bride is a graduate of Archbold High School and is employed as a Head Start bus monitor.

The bridegroom, a graduate of Southern Local High School, is employed as a Local 8 union electrician.

A reception followed at the Defiance Eagles Reception Hall for 250 guests.

The couple honeymooned at Cocoa Beach, Fla., and took a five-day cruise to the Bahamas. They reside in Defiance.

The rehearsal dinner was held at The Second Story in Defiance.
