Darcy Elizabeth Anton becomes bride of Scott Thomas Ziegler

The Lionsgate Center at The Gate House in Lafayette, Colo., was the site for the outdoor wedding ceremony and reception of Darcy Elizabeth Anton and Scott Thomas Ziegler on Aug. 23.

The bride wore a scoopneck mermaid-style gown of taffeta silk accented with a sash of pearl flowers and feathers, accented with a mesh necklace of white, gray and gold pearls. The wedding colors of gray and yellow decorated the outdoor ceremony area and indoor reception room. The bridal bouquet of sunflowers with a spray of white roses included hydrangea, billy balls, ranunculus, and some succulents. The heirloom locket of the bridegroom’s maternal great-great-great grandmother, was attached for the bride to carry, a family tradition for over 100 years.

The bride is the daughter of Mike Anton of Denver, and Betty Anton of Castle Rock, Colo.

The bridegroom is the son of Zane and Verna Kay Ziegler of North Georgetown. Harold Popejoy from Arvada, CO, the bride’s brother-in-law, escorted her paternal grandmother, Olive Anton from Denver.

Ryan Ziegler from Forest, Va., and brother of bridegroom, escorted his maternal grandmother, Jean Schneider of North Georgetown.

The mothers of the bride and bridegroom followed together in the procession together, then Zane Ziegler with his son, Scott, as the string quartet played “Canon in D.” Attendants were attired in gray with bouquets and boutonnieres of yellow and white.

Groomsman Matt Frederick of Chicago, Ill., escorted his wife, bridesmaid Jenni Frederick. Howard Popejoy from Arvada, Colo., escorted Jessica Frisby from the Denver area. Brother of the bridegroom, Ryan Ziegler, escorted Amber Knuth of the Denver area. Gabriel Martinez, best man, completed the procession escorting the bride’s sister and matron of honor, Adryan Popejoy, both from Denver. The bride was escorted by her father for the double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Kim Tavendale.

Guests were present from Colorado, Ohio, Missouri, Washington, Virginia, Illinois, Oregon, Kansas, and Kassel, Germany. Parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Zane Ziegler, hosted an Ohio reception for the couple on Oct. 6 at Drake’s Landing in Canfield.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, Colo. She earned her bachelor’s of arts degree in political science at the University of Colorado in 2008. She is employed as a government consultant with Corner Alliance Inc. in Boulder, Colo.

The bridegroom, a 2000 graduate of West Branch High School in Beloit, continued his education at Muskingum College in New Concord where he earned a bachelor’s of science in math and minor in computer science in 2004. He is a senior products manager for Richo Printing in Boulder, Colo.

The newlyweds reside in Denver after a weeklong honeymoon at a Sandals Resort in St. Lucia.
