Sierra Parks weds Josh Werling

Sierra Lin Pualani Parks became the bride of Joshua Scott Werling on Dec. 18 at the Governor Calvert House in Annapolis, Md.

The bride is the daughter of Joyce Harris of Salem and Rodney Parks of Norfolk, Va., and granddaughter of Chuck and JoAnn Harris of Salem. The groom is the son of Laurie Endres of Beloit, Wisc., and Bill and Kim Werling from Okinawa, Japan.

Pastor Joey Tomassoni officiated the double-ring ceremony.

Allison Parks, sister of the bride and a junior at the naval academy, USNA class of 2018, served as maid of honor. Brooke Williams, friend of the bride, USNA class of 2015; Sarah Bernhardt, friend of the bride, USNA class of ’15; Mallory Hughes of Sebring, cousin of the bride; Ashley Edmond, friend of the bride, USNA class of ’15; Rachel Sell of Rota, Spain, friend of the bride; Sierra Knoch, friend of the bride, USNA class of ’17; and Kelsie Pierson of Kent, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids.

Mason Chatmon of Beloit, Wisc., brother of the groom, served as best man. Tim Waterman, friend of the groom, USNA class of 2015; Sam Lacinski, friend of the groom, USNA class of ’15; Joey Mullvain of Beloit, Wisc., friend of the groom; Zachary Parks, brother of the bride, MM1 (SS) stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on board the USS Santa Fe; Ben Boeck, friend of the groom, USNA class of ’15; and Andy Kuo, friend of the groom, USNA class of ’15, served as groomsmen.

Flower girls were Audrey Endres and Reagan Sponaugle and the ring bearer was Mason Sponaugle.

The reception, with 85 guests, was held on The Catherine Marie Yacht, Annapolis City Docks.

The couple honeymooned at the Grande St. Lucian resort in Saint Lucia.

The bride is a 2011 graduate of United Local High School and a 2015 graduate of the US Naval Academy, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Oceanography. The groom is also a 2015 graduate of the US Naval Academy with a Bachelors of Science degree in Oceanography.

Mrs. Werling is currently in Norfolk, Va., stationed aboard the USS Winston S Churchill as the Gunnery and Ordnance Officer. Mr. Werling moved to Panama City, Fla., where he attended training at the Naval Dive and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC). After graduating from NDSTC, he moved to Niceville, Fla., where he is currently training at the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal, (EOD).

They are both Ensigns in the United States Navy and will reside in San Diego, Calif., this summer.
