Farmer’s Trust Co. aids SRMC effort for cancer care center

SALEM – The Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Foundation has announced that Farmer’s Trust Company has joined SRMC in the fight against cancer with a meaningful donation to the Foundation’s “Community Champions Expanding Cancer Care Together” capital campaign.

The generous donation from Farmers Trust Company will be used to support SRMC’s efforts to expand local access to state-of-the-art cancer care through its oncology services expansion. Scheduled to open this coming fall, SRMC’s new cancer treatment center will offer a healing and welcoming environment, while providing advanced service to support cancer patients and their families.

“Farmer’s Trust Company is proud to partner with Salem Regional Medical Center to bring expanded cancer care to the area. There are many community members who have had their lives touched by cancer, and we do this in their honor,” stated Joseph DePascale, President of Farmers Trust Co. “This donation is our way of helping to fight the battle against cancer, right here in our local area.”

Lisa Long, director of development at SRMC, expressed how thankful the hospital is for support from local businesses and members of the community. “Farmers Trust Company has a history of supporting our Foundation’s fundraising efforts. We are incredibly humbled by their continued support.”

The SRMC Foundation’s “Community Champions” campaign is open to all individuals, companies and organizations who wish to make a contribution. A variety of donation levels are available, including a number of naming opportunities within SRMC’s new oncology unit.
