SRMC Wound Healing Center recognized

SALEM – Salem Regional Medical Center’s (SRMC) Wound Healing Center (WHC) recently earned national recognition for maintaining outstanding patient satisfaction and wound healing rates.

For the third consecutive year, the WHC was named a 2015 “Center of Excellence” by Healogics Inc., and was one of only nine wound healing facilities in Ohio to receive this honor. The WHC also earned the Healogics “Center of Distinction” Award for performance excellence for the fourth consecutive year.

“These prestigious awards recognize the advanced treatments provided at our WHC, as well as the expertise and dedication of our staff to consistently deliver life-changing care to the patients we serve,” said Dawn Thomas, RN, BSN, WHC program director. “Last year, over 95 percent of patients who came to us with wounds that had not healed in 30 days were discharged from our care fully healed.”

SRMC’s Wound Healing Center offers state-of-the-art treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, for diabetic, venous and pressure ulcers; osteomyelitis; radionecrosis; infections; compromised skin grafts and flaps; and wounds that have not healed in 30 days.
