Surgeon joins SRMC Wound Healing Center

SALEM — William S. Lee, M.D., FACS, a board-certified general surgeon affiliated with Salem Regional Medical Center’s (SRMC) medical staff, has joined the panel of physicians at SRMC’s Wound Healing Center.

Dr. Lee has completed advanced training in wound care and will be using this expertise to treat patients at the center, which offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other state-of-the-art treatments for people with acute, chronic or non-healing wounds.

“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Lee to our experienced team of physicians and nurses, who specialize in using the latest wound healing techniques to help our patients regain their quality of life,” said Dawn Thomas, RN, BSN, Wound Healing Center program director.

A member of the American Medical Association and Ohio State Medical Association, Dr. Lee is Board-Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition to his role at the Wound Healing Center, he provides a full range of advanced surgical procedures and endoscopy services as a general surgeon with Salem General Surgery.

Some of the conditions treated at the center include diabetic, venous/arterial and pressure ulcers; osteomyelitis; radionecrosis; infections; compromised skin grafts and flaps; insect bites; thermal burns; and wounds that have not healed in 30 days.
