WB alum promoted at Merrill Lynch

Renee Metcalf

CHICAGO — Renee Metcalf was recently promoted to co-lead of the Illinois Global Commercial Banking Market for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, with a firm focus on client delivery and solutions for middle market companies. She provides clients with services including risk management, international, investment banking and wealth management growth.

Previously she was treasurer of Susan G. Komen Chicagoland and was on the board of HomeAid. In October she was nominated to the board of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

As a senior leader, Metcalf practices daily the banks focus on diversity and inclusion. In 2015, she received the Bank of America Global Diversity Inclusion Award.

In 2013 she was named one of the Most Influential Women in Business for DuPage County. She is currently a virtual mentor for Bank of America Global Ambassador Program supporting women intrepreneurs all over the world. In Chicago, Metcalf is the executive sponsor of Lead, Bank of America’s women’s affinity group that is 600-plus strong in the metro area.

Metcalf is 1988 graduate of West Branch High School, attended Miami University of Ohio, and graduated with a bachelor’s of business degree in 1992. She went on to receive a master’s degree in business administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland.

She and her husband James reside in Chicago. They have two children. Her parents, Jack and Margaret Ann Howells, reside in Salem.
