Salem woman named Ohio Living employee of year
YOUNGSTOWN — Michelle Gongaware of Salem has been named the second annual recipient of the Employee of the Year Award for Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice, Greater Youngstown. She was nominated by her peers and selected by the award committee. She serves as business development liaison and has dedicated her profession to serving others.
The employee of the year must role model each of the organizations core values of care, customer service, integrity, innovation, financial stewardship and leadership. “Ohio Living would not be the same without her; she is simply irreplaceable,” said Sarah Hadley, executive director. “In her 12 years with us she has seen lots of changes and faced many challenges, but always remained steadfast. I can honestly say that Michelle inspires me to be better every day.”
Kate Davis, director of business development, agrees. “Serving a company for over a decade shows a type of loyalty and strength that we don’t often see day in and day out. This is why Michelle is our employee of the year. She understands how to celebrate victories and how to weather a storm with unwavering faith in not only herself but her team.”
“Even on the most difficult days, Michelle gives Ohio Living 150 percent and we can’t thank her enough for that,” said Billie Daugherty, human resource generalist. “She leads by example, sets a standard for excellence, and raises the bar every single day. It doesn’t matter what time, day or night — she is there for her team and is there for her patients.”
Gongaware was honored by her team with attending the NorthCoast 99 event on Sept. 18.
