Four treated following fire at Lordstown plant
LORDSTOWN – Operations have returned to normal at the GM Lordstown Complex following a small fire in the Chassis department just before 9 p.m. Friday, according to a company statement released Saturday at 10 a.m.
The early investigation reveals that the fire was started as a result of welding work performed by contractors. Four people on site were taken to local hospitals. Three have been treated and released and one remains hospitalized for observation. Production at Lordstown remains scheduled for all three shifts Monday with third shift reporting at regularly scheduled times Sunday night.
