SHS National Honor Society sponsoring indoor yard sale

The Salem High School Chapter of National Honor Society will sponsor a large indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 in the school cafeteria. “This will be the second year that the school has had such an event,” said Robert Viencek, NHS advisor. “We’re looking to the community for donations for the sale. These would include holiday decorations, sporting equipment, household items, books, games, garden tools, etc. The things we can’t accept are bicycles, clothing and shoes. The churches in town do great rummage sales-the clothes should go to them.” Pictured are co-chairmen, from left, Jessica Martinelli, Ellen Walp and Cierra Cresanto. The drop off date for items is 3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in the cafeteria. Student workers will be available to help people unload their cars and bring items into the cafeteria. Ellen Walp explained, “This year National Honor Society is planning to purchase special satin sashes for graduation. It will designate our students for their achievements in academics as well as community service involvement. It is important for people to know that their donations are tax deductible and very much appreciated by our students in National Honor Society.” (Submitted photo)
