Youngstown man arrested in shooting death of Lisbon man
YOUNGSTOWN – A city man has been arrested in the death of a 52-year-old Lisbon man.
According to the WKBN Channel 27, a printer partner of the Morning Journal which is a sister Ogden newspaper of the Salem News, Larry Blue, 32, was charged with aggravated murder and felonious assault in the death of David Stokes.
A woman, Khadijah Nicole Payden Briggs, 19, was charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
According to WKBN, the two were arrested Saturday by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Saturday at a Tyrell Avenue apartment.
Both are being held in the Mahoning County jail.
Blue is accused of fatally shooting Stokes, 52 multiple times shortly before noon Friday in a Rosewood Lane parking lot in the Rockford Village Apartment complex.
Another Columbiana County man, Matthew Sharp, was shot in the leg. A third person with Stokes and Sharp escaped unhurt, WKBN said.
Police are investigating whether the murder may have started as an attempted robbery.
Blue has previous assault convictions for which he spent four years in prison, WKBN said.
Stokes’ death was the first homicide in Youngstown in 2013. The city had 26 last year.
