Court fees raised
LISBON – Those filing cases in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court next week will notice some higher filing fees.
Some filing fees will increase by as much as $10, making the total cost $20 for the filing of each cause of action or appeal on the filing. Additionally, the increased fee will apply to docketing and endorsing of each certificate of judgment, or on the docketing and indexing of each aid in execution or each petition to vacate, revive or modify judgment certain sections of the Ohio Revised Code.
Additionally, another filing fee of $1 will now be charged for services such as each bond, writ, order, subpoena issued, swearing of witnesses, posting a docket, making complete records and each certificate of fact under seal of the court.
The cost of filing a cause of action or an appeal in some instances will increase from $3 to $6.
Deputy Clerk Shane Patrone noted the changes were mandated by recent Ohio legislation. Each county court is being asked to re-evaluate its current fees based on the changes being noted. As administrative judge this year, Common Pleas Court Judge C. Ashley Pike has been signing off on the changes.
The additional fees will be used to cover the additional costs of technology required for court research.
