Disabilities board OKs paying for tests

LISBON – The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities on Wednesday approved a contract paying all expenses for transition evaluations from Help Me Grow Preschool Services at $356 per evaluation.

Superintendent William Devon said the board is “out of the preschool arena but would still like to show support for the kids.”

Students reaching a certain age leave Help Me Grow Preschool services and become students in either their home districts or with the Robert Bycroft School through the Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The board also approved to spend up to $3,500 on back-to-school kits for all developmentally disabled preschool students in the county.

In other business, the board agreed to:

– Sell bus 12 to Southern Local for $2,500 trade-in value.

– Renew lunch contract for the 2013-2014 school year with Lisbon Schools at a cost of $2.85 for lunch and $1.00 for breakfast (a 10 cent increase from last year).
