Salem Twp. trustees OK fuel tank purchases
FRANKLIN SQUARE – Salem Township trustees approved the purchase of three, 1,000-gallon fuel tanks from Turbo Excavating during Wednesday’s meeting.
Trustee John Wilms said the tanks were equipped with 110-volt pumps and price was $2,500 delivered.
The township currently has storage for 1,800 gallons and Road Supervisor Jason Entrikin said fuel tanks are usually priced at one dollar per gallon of capacity and thought the price was good. The purchase more than doubles the township fuel capacity.
Trustee Bill Heston said, “I would think it would be a good buy,” and trustees approved the resolution with a 2-0 vote.
Trustee Chairman Ray Heddleson was absent.
Entrikin said he would place the tanks at the township garage.
In other business, Fiscal Officer Cathy Wilms said the township received a DVD of Grafton Road that was filmed as part of a road use management agreement and trustees approved the proposed fiscal budget for 2014. Also the Columbiana County Fair sent the township booth setup information.
Trustee will meet next at 7:30 p.m. on July 10.
