WB personnel moves OK’d

BELOIT- The West Branch Local school board Saturday approved several personnel moves.

The board accepted the retirement of French teacher Kathe Paidas and cook Nancy McQuilken; and the resignations of Jennifer Gonda as behavior specialist and Patty Laut and Debbie Shafer as playground aides.

The board also hired for the 2013-2014 school year Pam Murray as a fourth-grade teacher, Krista Roe as a middle school science teacher and Christine Harter and Debbie Shafer as a two-and-a half hour cashiers; and granted limited contracts to certificated/licensed employees Rebecca Thrasher and Heidi Truxall.

The board also approved Bob Altenhof and Scott Davis for the 2013 Summer Credit Recovery and approved for the Success by Six 2013 summer program certified staff Kathie Menegay, Cayla Bowers, Kassie Blazer and Jennifer Fye, secretary Kim Sabatine and aides Debbie Nezbeth and Patti Flickinger. The board also reduced Louis Sellaroli’s 2013-2014 pre-season conditioning supplemental to two-thirds due to his retirement, with the first half to be paid this month.

In other business the board granted eligible confidential employees and administrators one-half step increases for the 2013-2014 school year and approved the freeze of longevity pay for eligible administrators during the 2013-2014 school year.

The board also approved continuation of insurance benefits throughout the summer for all eligible employees who were rehired after non-renewal and currently carry insurance.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 27 at the high school.
