Quaker history on display

Nelda Stanley Hawkins, a Quaker born in Salem who belongs to the Salem Upper Springfield Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends on Sixth Street, displays some of her Quaker heritage, including the bonnet she’s wearing, which belonged to her mother. Another bonnet on the table belonged to her grandmother. Both were made of silk. The display is part of several for Family Fall Fun Day in the Dale Shaffer Library meeting room, which will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. today. (Salem News photo by Mary Ann Greier)
