Benefit at Club Fuel to aid woman

SALEM – A “Pay it Forward Benefit” will be held for Amy Westover at the Club Fuel on Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Club Fuel is located at 188 Railroad St. in Salem.

The event is open to people of all ages from 6 to 9:30 p.m., then it is 18 years and up after 9:30 p.m. There is a $5 donation/cover charge at the door.

Westover, a Columbiana resident, was paralyzed when a large tree fell on her while she was going after her dog that was running off.

On the “Pay it Forward” Facebook page, Craig Thomas said, “I am throwing a benefit for Amy Westover, she’s a very nice girl who needs a lot of support from people who want to help.”

Westover has been confined to a wheelchair since the accident that occurred a couple of years ago.

The benefit will assist Westover in obtaining a new wheelchair and a new bed, Thomas said.

There will be food, the band Project A will perform along with a DJ. There will also be a Chinese auction, 50/50 drawing, giveaways and tons of stuff to do, Thomas said, including corn hole, pool and beer pong.

Thomas said, “We have quite a few baskets and other awesome prizes people can win.” Almost any kind of basket you can think of, gift cards for tattoos, massages, tanning sessions, a $50 gift card to the Re-Store, two guitars, a jet ski, a flat screen television and too many things to list.

“You name it, we got it,” he said, adding, “we will also be giving away a ticket to win our VIP room with a bottle of your choice.”

Thomas said that if any other bands or performers would like to donate their time they should contact him ASAP at 234-567-3878.
