Elsass to seek Ohio House seat

LISBON -There may be a third-party candidate running for state representative from Columbiana County.

Martin “Buck” Elsass filed petitions this week with the county elections board to run for state representative in the 2014 primary election as the Libertarian Party candidate.

The seat is currently held by Democrat Nick Barborak, who was just elected last year to his first two-year term.

Elsass ran unsuccessfully for Congress as a Libertarian in 2010, garnering 2.1 percent of the vote in losing to Republican Bill Johnson, who is still the current U.S. representative for the district.
