Deputy discovers another suspected meth lab in Salem

SALEM – A sheriff’s deputy serving a warrant Sunday found a suspected meth lab in Salem.

When the deputy served the warrant on Nathan Steer, 27, of 278 E. Eighth St., he reportedly saw evidence of marijuana growing, according to Lt. Brian McLaughlin, head of the county drug task force.

A search warrant was then obtained, McLaughlin said, and officers found multiple pots of suspected meth cooking on the stove.

Steer was taken into custody on the warrant for failure to appear. Drug charges are pending, McLaughlin said.
