Suspect arraigned in murder of brother

LISBON – The man accused of murder after allegedly shooting his brother multiple times early Saturday was arraigned Monday morning before Judge Carol Robb in Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Quinton E. Lewis, 34, whose address is listed as Fairlawn, appeared by video from the Columbiana County Jail.

Lewis kept his eyes down as Robb read the murder charge against him. A preliminary hearing was for Dec. 30.

Lewis seemed agitated upon learning bond would be set at $1 million cash or surety.

An amendment from the charge was made by Assistant County Prosecutor Don Humphrey Jr., who said this particular murder charge should be an unclassified felony, which is punishable by up to 15 years to life in prison.

Lewis will be provided a court-appointed attorney.

According to court documents, Salem police responded Saturday to 530 Walnut St. for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, police found Marion Lewis, 40, dead in the kitchen and Quinton Lewis behind the home.

Court documents claim the brothers, who are originally both from the Lisbon area, had argued while visiting the home of Mark Lewis Sr., an uncle. At some point during the argument, police believe Quinton Lewis went and retrieved a handgun. He returned to the home and allegedly opened fire, shooting Marion Lewis multiple times, resulting in his death.

Marion Lewis was found face down in the kitchen and had multiple gunshot wounds, according to court documents.

There were two people in the courtroom identified as family members by Robb, who after the hearing related, “The court wishes to express sympathy to your family at the loss of your loved one.”
