Valentine: Arrest stopped string of area burglaries

FRANKLIN SQUARE – Salem Township Constable Dan Valentine said a string of burglaries in the township have stopped.

Valentine said Adam L. Lodge, was indicted by the Columbiana County Grand Jury earlier this month and picked up by deputies, and since then burglary activity has ceased.

Lodge, 22, whose last known address is West Main Street, Leetonia, is charged with three counts of burglary.

According to court documents, he allegedly broke into the home of Jerry Reed, state Route 558, Leetonia, three times.

The charges are each third degree felonies and carry up to five years prison time on each count.

Valentine said Lodge, who has some sort of relationship to Reed, was charged with breaking into his residence at 37457 state Route 558 on Nov. 4, 7 and 12 and a 12-gauge shotgun was taken during the last incident.

Valentine said Lodge had been in the residence, which is located in the Breezeway Mobile Manner, before.

All three incidents were investigated by Valentine along with other burglaries at the time.

“They had the neighborhood in an uproar,” he said. “It’s good that we got it stopped.”

During questioning, Valentine said Lodge confessed to breaking into the residence.

According to Columbiana County court records, Lodge was also found guilty of assault and theft and was on two years probation after pleading no contest to obstructing official business.
