Fat Tuesday in Salem

The Salem Community Center with the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs hosted their annual Fat Tuesday event benefiting the Salem Community Pantry. The event featured 27 chefs, including local businesses and community members, and sold out 300 tickets at $10 apiece. “It’s a fantastic event for the community, especially the food pantry,” said Heather Young, executive director at the community center. “It’s a great night for people to come out and celebrate before the Lenten season while serving a good cause and charity.” Pictured, community members have their plates filled by the chefs, who volunteered their time and food to the event.
