Man charged with reckless homicide has new lawyers

LISBON – A Knox Township man accused of shooting his neighbor on his front porch last year, Frank Gorichky, came to Columbiana County Common Pleas Court on Friday with two new defense lawyers.

Gorichky, 54, Kevin Drive, Alliance, is charged with reckless homicide with a firearm specification, having a weapon while under a disability and tampering with evidence in the death of Michael S. Fisher on July 2.

Gorichky had been represented by a public defender Richard Hura, but on Friday he appeared with attorneys C. Bruce Williams and Jan R. Mostov. Needing time to get caught up on the case, the attorneys requested more time.

The case had been scheduled to go to jury trial on March 24. Instead, new dates were selected for status conferences and the new jury trial was scheduled for May 19. The attorneys reserved the right to file motions as they begin sifting through the evidence on the case.

According to court documents, Gorichky recklessly caused the death of Fisher while brandishing or displaying a 12-gauge shotgun. He is also accused of altering the crime scene by changing the placement of the gun and changing the position of Fisher’s body to mislead investigators.
