No electronics accepted during Perry spring cleanup this year
PERRY TWP. – No electronics will be accepted during Perry Township’s spring cleanup this year, starting April 7 on the north side for a week and then April 14 on the south side.
The annual cleanup is for township residents living outside of the city limits, with State Street the dividing line between north and south.
Trustees had already announced the dates earlier this month but learned recently that the business which usually takes the electronic items wasn’t taking them this year. That means no televisions or other electronic items can be placed out for pickup.
All items that will be accepted must be placed curbside in disposable containers that can be lifted by one person into the truck. A limit of one truckload per household is permitted.
One piece of heavy furniture will be permitted and must be able to be lifted by two people into the truck. Prohibited items, besides electronics, include propane tanks, paint products or paint cans, batteries and anything containing freon.
Each household will be limited to five tires without rims, with tires separated from other items since they’ll be picked up separately. Branches and twigs should be bundled and piled separately since they’re picked up at different times.
