Drug raids in Salem, East Liverpool
LISBON – Search warrants executed at both ends of the county Friday by the county Drug Task Force (DTF) turned up drugs, drug paraphernalia and firearms, with charges pending against several people.
According to Director Brian McLaughlin, the task force was assisted in East Liverpool by city police officers, the county sheriff’s office and federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in serving a search warrant at 811 Lincoln Ave. following a two-month investigation.
Inside, officers found Vonlie Cooper, 25, and Blakely Cooper, 22, along with Suboxone, cellular phones and drug paraphernalia, McLaughlin reported. He said a prescription is required to possess Suboxone, which is used to help people trying to rid themselves of drug addictions.
The home is rented by a woman whose last name is Gamble, McLaughlin said.
Also on Friday, the DTF, along with Salem police, sheriff’s office and DEA, executed a search warrant at 2394 Kennedy St., the residence of Patrick Jarrett.
Inside, officers reported finding packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, cellular phones and a firearm. McLaughlin did not specify the type or caliber of the weapon.
Present during the search inside the home were Kyle Gray and Jamie Pastors.
This search was the result of a seven-month-long investigation.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues in both cases.
