Staff Reports

SALINEVILLE – A Hammondsville man is dead following an four-wheeler accident Friday evening.

The Columbiana County Sheriff’s office responded to the area of state Route 164 and Temme Road at 9:02 p.m. Friday where Christopher M. Sprouse, 20, was being treated by Tri-County Ambulance.

Lucas Kuhar, Hammondsville, told deputies he was riding in front of Sprouse on another vehicle. Kuhar said he looked around but could not see Sprouse. When he turned around, he found Sprouse lying on Temme Road with his vehicle flipped on its left side.

Kuhar said he moved Sprouse and contacted Sprouse’s family, who helped load him onto the back of a pickup truck and drove him to state Route 164, where they met the ambulance.

Sprouse was taken to East Liverpool City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation.
