Cruise vendors must pay fee

SALEM – Vendors who set up on private property during the Salem Super Cruise are being reminded that they must pay the event fee to the city and be inspected by the health and fire departments.

City Service/Safety Director Ken Kenst issued the reminder Monday, noting that vendors won’t able to operate until the inspections are completed and the fee is paid. He noted that some vendors operating on private property have already paid the fee.

Kenst said the city health department and the fire department will be out doing the inspections on Thursday of food vendors and food operations.

He explained that private citizens having garage sales or church groups selling items on their properties are exempt from the event fee.
