Arby’s brings child hunger campaign to cruise

The Arby’s Foundation brought its fighting child hunger campaign to the Arby’s Cruise in Salem on Saturday. The foundation works in partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign and has donated over $52 million to various charitable causes across the country in the past 25 years. In 2011, the Arby’s Foundation engaged in a new partnership with the No Kid Hungry Campaign. Arby’s said, “We are very proud to have such a dynamic and important cause to put our fundraising and awareness efforts behind” adding, “Our vision is to ensure that all children in America have access to wholesome food…every day … with one in five children in America struggling with hunger, totaling more than 16 million, this initiative provides an important and attainable goal: to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.” It also set up a corn hole contest to interact with regular Saturday cruise, which is pictured here. Arby’s Cruisin’ Crew organizer Gene Johnson said “This was a great group of young men that is out doing this, they were lots of fun to work with.” For more information about the campaign, visit: (Contributed photo)
