Despite the rain, smiles at Salem Kiwanis Show

The 50th Salem Kiwanis Antique and Craft Show was held Saturday at a soggy Centennial Park. But the rain didn’t deter everyone from attending an event which began in 1964 as an antiques show at Reilly Stadium. In one photo, 6-year-old Shayla Mackendrick of Fowler checks out some snow men in July. She is the grandchild of Nancy Zines of Hanoverton. In the other photo, Vendor Ruth McCracken, who operates “Stuff” at 1359 W. State Street in Salem, matches smiles with a hanging ornament bursting with sunshine on a wet and dismal day.
