Perry to net $41K in LGF
Perry Twp. – Fiscal Officer Susan Johnston told trustees at Monday’s meeting the township will receive $41,155 in Local Government Fund money in 2015 and trustees passed a resolution certifying street lighting fees assessed to residents that will be forwarded to the county auditor.
Also, leaf pickup bags will be available at the Home Depot Store in Salem on Saturday, Oct. 4 only. The program is sponsored by the Carroll Columbiana-Harrison Solid Waste District and residents will be allowed upwards of 15 free leaf bags, with the proper ID.
Bags will be distributed to residents of Perry Township and the cities of Salem and Columbiana.
Leftover bags will be brought to the Perry Township north and south fire stations for residents needing additional bags.
The township tire drive will be held in October, but no date has been set. The drive is for passenger car tires only.
In other business, Trustee Don Kendrick said nine building permits were issued in August bringing the yearly total to 42.
