West Branch OKs training agreement
BELOIT — The West Branch school board Monday night approved an athletic training agreement with Alliance Community Hospital for the 2017-2018 school year.
The contract is for $30,000 for 1,000 hours for home games for the high school teams and any tournaments held at the high school campus, plus on-call consultation for coaches.
In other business, the board also approved a contract with Strategic Solutions Inc. in the amount of $5,995 for comprehensive scanning and document imaging.
Under personnel, the board hired Melissa Seckler as 2017 summer school teacher, Katelyn Dunn as aide for the 2017 summer transition program, Deborah Erbs as a middle school math teacher, Emily ReKolt as a middle school language arts teacher, Timothy Cooper as a middle school science/math teacher, Teresa Kress as a two-hour cook’s helper, Jody Edie as a two-hour cashier, Julie Cheslik as an intermediate literacy coach, Kylie Luca as an intervention specialist, Megan Bowser as an intervention specialist and Angie Mulinix as a social studies teacher and technology coach.
The board also recalled Marsha Coffee from a Reduction in Force as a family and consumer science educator for the 2017-2018 school year and granted supplemental coaching contracts for 2017-2018 to Michael Brown for head golf, Bob Brown for golf volunteer, Mike Falasca for middle school golf, Caroline McDermott for swimming volunteer, Sam Seiple for swimming volunteer, Emily ReKolt for girls soccer assistant and Zach Dean for boys soccer volunteer.
Additionally the board accepted the resignations of John Schuster as aide, Heather Norris as aide, Denise Gandee as bus driver, Rebecca Calvin as intervention specialist and Kent Paulini as middle school math teacher.
Additionally the board accepted donations of services valued at $2,050 from Smith Landscaping for the high school courtyard and football field, $337.38 from Sebring-West Branch Community Foundation for the high school art department and $175 from the West Branch Education Association for the Damascus Principal Fund for the NEOEA Award/Green School Award.
