Salem Eagles raise $2K for Salem PD K-9 unit

Salem Fraternal Order of Eagles 316 officers present a check for $2000 to Salem Patrolmen Steve Larosa and Mike Garber and their K-9 counterparts, Argo and Simon, for the police department’s K-9 program. SALEM — The Salem Fraternal Order of Eagles 316 raised $2,000 for the Salem Police Department’s K-9 program with a day of breakfast, golf and steak on Aug. 19.

Club officers presented a check to Patrolmen Steve Larosa and Mike Garber and their K-9 partners, Simon and Argo, on Tuesday night at the club home, 1884 N. Ellsworth Ave. The proceeds came from a golf scramble at Salem Hills Golf & Country Club on Salem-Warren Road which was preceded by a breakfast at the Eagles and then followed by a steak dinner at the club which included raffles and live entertainment.

Trustee Ron Sanor said they had many people to thank who helped with the events, both with donations and by volunteering. Thanks were offered to the following donors: Salem Hills Golf & Country Club, Superior Beverage, Ezio’s, Jalisco’s, DeRienzo’s, Ricky’s English Pub, Salem Fun Factory, MAC Trailers, Kim Williams, Jodi Kiko, Nancy Sanor, Gale Glista, Lisa and Mike Blythe, Debbie Sanor, Jon Mark Jenson, Vicki Knizat, Janet Elliott and Donna Baker.

Thanks were also offered to the many volunteers.
