West Branch Middle School Student Council plants flowers in Memorial Garden

Another school year at West Branch Middle School began with the student council officers annual planting of mums in the Jennifer Baker’s Memorial Garden outside the school building. Shown here, Council president Peyton Bell, left, and vice president Kennedy Close planting mums. The garden is filled with a variety of flowers and shrubs, but the planting of yellow mums has quickly become a welcomed tradition. Baker was a teacher at West Branch until she was tragically killed in an automobile accident on Nov. 19, 2009. This is one of the many service project WBMS Student Council conducts throughout the school year. Other projects are developed by the students and focus on school service, community service and world service. (Submitted photo)
