Car hits house in Lisbon

A woman believed to be in her 60s was airlifted by STAT MedEvac to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Youngstown after crashing her 2001 Chevy Cobalt into Ryan and Michelle Yost’s house at 637 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon, at 10:17 p.m. Monday. Lisbon firefighters, police and North Star medics helped extricate the woman, who witnesses said never hit the brakes when she continued through the intersection at Lincoln Way and state Routes 30/45 at Carter Lumber. She hit the right corner of the house, breaking through the cement block basement wall, breaking off a waterline in the house. Homeowners quickly shut their water off as the basement began filling up. Patrolman Dave Hilliard is investigating the crash. The Yosts were asleep at the time of the crash and were awaken by a loud boom. (Salem News photo by Patti Schaeffer)
