Heavy rains cause crash
Andrea Poling, 21, of New Waterford
escaped serious injury after loosing
control of her 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer in the southbound lanes of state Route 11 just before 8 p.m. Saturday. It is
believed Poling hydroplaned on the wet surface, striking the guardrail, spinning around and coming to a stop behind it before an embankment. She was in the southbound lanes just south of the Route 517 overpass. Lisbon firefighters responded to the crash and maintained traffic control as KLG treated Poling. Trooper Laurna Curby of the highway patrol investigated the crash with the
assistance of Trooper Jodi Bowlen.
Poling was cited for failure to maintain control. Pictured, Lisbon firefighter Richard Thomas holds a flashlight as Curby writes down the distances
measured out by Bowlen.
