Old Rogers Honor Farm gone

An excavator and some foundation stones are all that remain of the original Rogers Honor Farm building on state Route 7. The old red brick, two-story building was razed last week leaving the newer one-story structure to take its place. According to its website, it is known today as the Multi-County Juvenile Attention System’s (MCJAS)Rogers Children’s Residential Center and is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The facility serves boys between the ages of 12 and 17, and up to 21 years old mentally or physically handicapped, who are in the temporary custody of the juvenile courts or the Department of Job and Family Services.
