Good day for pothole patching

Three Salem service department crews were out cold patching streets during Tuesday’s warm-up. The crews have been out on previous days trying to keep up with the potholes and cracks caused by the repeated ice-salt-thaw cycles of winter. Mark Logan, left, and Duke Snavely are shown working on East Pershing Street and South Madison Avenue. Temperatures soared past what’s normally expected in February with 74 degrees recorded on the LED information sign in front of Salem Junior and Senior High School Tuesday evening.
