Annual Downtown Clean-Up Day is Saturday

Salem Area Chamber of Commerce’s Salem Beautification Committee will hold its annual Downtown Clean-Up Day on Saturday. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at McCulloch Park and bring leaf blowers, garden tools and work gloves. Everyone is reminded to mark their personal items with their name and address. Those unable to attend the clean-up day are asked to walk around their neighborhoods to pick up trash and debris, with a reminder to wear protective gloves. “We will be hosting many big events this year, to name a few: the Salem Super Cruise, multiple class and family reunions, Kiwanis Antiques in the Park, Second Saturday promotions and the Salem Quakerfest,” said Co-Chairman Karen Carter. “It is important for our town to look clean, well kept and updated for our residents and visitors.” Pictured are committee members, first row, from left, Karen Carter, Robin Falk, JeanAlice Fehr, Shelby Shambach, Kate Oesch; second row, from left, Sara Baer, Co-Chairmen Jennifer Brown and Elaine Kothera, Carolyn Jones, Isabel Huber, Mollie Copacia and Cami Franzen.
