The Salem Quaker City Band will return to the Orashan Memorial Civic Center at Waterworth Memorial Park as part of the Salem Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m. July 1. Conductor Robert Barnett has scheduled a program titled “An American Celebration” that will feature patriotic and American selections. Returning as guest soloist will be mezzo soprano Valerie Weingart, a graduate of West Branch High School and Ball State University. Admission is free. Tickets will be sold for a 50/50 drawing and prizes donated by local businesses. Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs. A food vendor will be available to purchase food and soft drinks.
