LISBON — The person wanting to open a honey wine meadery in town has found a new location.

Philip Campbell of Buffalo obtained a permit to open his meadery in the former Pozenel Insurance storefront on South Park Avenue.

Campbell had planned to open the meadery in the former Motorcycle Dream Shop on South Market Street, but the building was sold and the new landlord increased the proposed rent, which resulted in him looking for a new location.

The South Park Avenue location had been remodeled, but Campbell said he is still waiting for the necessary state and federal permits which could take anywhere from a week to three months. Campbell said once the meadery is up and running he is considering also producing and selling honey soda pop next year at the location.
