Barge shipment

Two 90,000-pound industrial ladles bound for the Timken Steel plant in Akron were transferred from a barge to waiting trucks on Monday at the Columbiana County Port Authority’s riverfront industrial park in Wellsville. Manufactured in China, the ladles were shipped through the Panama Canal and then up the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. The ladles were moved onto the flatbed truck using the port authority’s crane system, which is capable of lifting up to 120,000 pounds. (Submitted photo)
