The Salem Parks Department and Salem Community Center hosted a Pitch, Hit & Run Saturday at Galchick Field in Memorial Park. The event was free, open to area boys and girls and featured baseball and softball participation in pitching, hitting and base running. Winners in each age group (7-8, 9-10,11-12, 13-14) for each skill tested along with a overall boys and girls winners advanced to sectional competition scheduled today at South Range. Sectional winners will advance to team championships at local major league ballparks. National finals will be held in Cleveland during All-Star week.
