Farmer’s Market will open Thursday
SALEM — Salem Farmer’s Market kicks off the season from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Masonic Lodge parking lot on East State Street with raffles and giveaways.
Market Manager Laura Spencer explained that each vendor will have a bucket and for every $5 spent at a vendor’s stand, shoppers will receive a free ticket to enter a raffle giveaway. Spencer said it’s to help celebrate the first week of the market, which has now been going on for several years, with this the second year at the current location at 788 E. State St.
Shoppers are advised to enter the parking lot from the alley.
Spencer said spaces are available for vendors who want to participate in the market this year by contacting her at 330-309-5884 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. To keep up with what’s happening with the market, visit the social media accounts for SalemOhioFarmersMarket.
Spencer said they have quite a few vendors already signed up and others may pop in as the summer progresses.
Some of the vendors expected include Spencer Meats featuring all types of meats, NewMe’s Pies with pies and pie dough cookies, Arika Jean’s Farm & Cottage with jams and jellies, Garrett’s Garden of Life featuring gluten-free and dairy-free items and baked goods, Jack’s Mountain Orchard selling vegetables, Redefine the Vine featuring patio tomato plants, herbs and fruits in season, Saponify Naturals featuring locally-made skin care products, James Natural Products with local honey, vegetables and other honey items and Maple Valley Maple Products for maple syrup.
