Salem-area businesses honored for school support
SALEM — The Salem City Board of Education recently announced its inclusion of four Salem area businesses on the Ohio School Boards association Business Honor Roll.
Businesses recognized for their strong support of Salem City Schools include Salem Computer Center, BOC Water Hydraulics, Giant Eagle-Salem and Adele’s Restaurant, which was honored not just for its support of the district but as a special project supporter.
All the businesses received letters signed by OSBA President John Halkias, who is a board member in the Plain Local district in Stark County.
“School-business partnerships greatly benefit all involved. Local businesses play a crucial role in supporting their communities’ schools while students get real-world experience. This support is especially important as school districts struggle with limited resources,” the letter said. “Just as businesses support their schools, it’s equally important that schools and communities support their local merchants and service providers.”
