Day of Prayer luncheon planned

SALEM – Salem Church Women United has announced that the annual World Day of Prayer luncheon and program is slated March 1 at the First Baptist Church, 1290 E. State St. The luncheon, prepared by the women of the church, begins at 12:30 p.m. An appreciation offering will be taken. Reservations may be made by contacting Pat Wilde at 330-337-3914 before Monday. The World Day of Prayer observance is open to men and women of all faiths.

The next meeting is scheduled March 25 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. A program will be provided by the drug task force from the Salem Police Department.

Revival Services set in East Palestine

EAST PALESTINE – The East Palestine Church of the Nazarene will hold Revival Services from Feb. 28 through March 3. Services are scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. each day with an additional 10:45 morning service on Sunday.

The special guest speaker will be Pastor Terry Freeman, who at one time was the associate pastor for the Nazarene Church with Pastor Brian Brown. Pastor Freeman is now the associate pastor for the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Airy, N.C. He has been senior pastor at three local churches, the associate pastor for numerous other churches and the leader on many Bible studies. Music will also be provided.

SALEM – Celebrating over 30 years of Christian education, Little Friends Preschool is opening enrollment for the 2013-14 school year.

To kick off the beginning of fall registration, the preschool will celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday at 9:30 a.m. March 6.
