East Palestine Lions hear about Lion pins, discuss upcoming community events

EAST PALESTINE -Wayne Christen presented a program about collecting Lions pins when the East Palestine Lions met recently. He also displayed numerous pins from the more than 6,000 pins he’s amassed since he began his collection two years ago. Christen is a member of the Lisbon Lions Club and the Ohio Pin Traders Club.

Other Lisbon Lions Club members visiting that evening were Janet Christen, Joe and Sharon Hall, and Paul and Linda Metrovich.

Other guests included Lions Dave Forinash and Dave Butler from the New Waterford Lions Club, and Don and Ruby Heldman from the Wellsville Lions Club.

President Cindy Robb presided at the meeting and announced the deadline for making reservations to the District 13-D Spring Conference is April 19. The conference is slated April 28 in Alliance.

Robb also led discussions about upcoming community events where the Lions could participate and also hold fund-raising activities. In other business, Treasurer Tamara Hess and Secretary Mamie Tollas gave their reports which were approved as presented.

Tail twister/membership chairman Brian Brinegar also talked about ways the East Palestine Lions can become more recognizable in the community and increase membership.
