Calla Church to hold annual lawn festival, quilt raffle

Calla Church at 6472 W. Calla Road, Canfield, will hold its annual lawn festival on July 13. Activities begin at 4:30 p.m., rain or shine, featuring hot turkey sandwiches, pulled pork, hot dogs, sloppy joes, pies, cakes, watermelon and ice cream. Carryouts are available. An old-fashioned country store offers handmade crafts, baked goods, knickknacks, and hand-loomed rugs made by Shirley Baker. The highlight of the evening is the drawing for the handmade, queen-size clambake “yoyo” quilt. Donna Mercer of Salem marked the quilt for stitching. Mercer also made an afghan as another prize for the raffle. Quilt tickets, $1 each or six for $5, will be sold at the festival.
