United Quilt Guild to host Underground Railroad show

United Quilt Guild White Glove Helpers will show and explain the quilts on display at the 2013 Quilts of the Underground Railroad Show July 19 through 21 at the Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 19 and 20 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21. Admission is $6. In addition to the Judged Quilt Show, there will also be a vendor mall, classes, demonstrations, refreshments and a raffle quilt. Local museum displays and a trolley tour of the homes included in the Salem Underground Railroad will also be available, and Abe Lincoln and Mary Todd impersonators will speak about quilts from the Civil War Era.
